Being Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and/or Trans means that we can
often face problems within our families, our jobs, in our
neighbourhood or in the
street. Although many of us have strong support networks with
other LGBT people, some of us are not only marginalised from
mainstream society but
also from LGBT culture as well. I want to help ensure that the
safety needs of all LGBT people in our city are taken seriously
including trans
and bisexual people, young and older people, those on low
incomes, people with disabilities, black and minority ethnic
people, and those
who live in outlying areas of the city.
If you think they may have witnessed or been affected by
homophobia, biphobia or transphobia, I can give advice, talk
through all the
options, answer any questions, and talk about anything that
might be worrying you. If you to report hate crime I can support
you through
Police and Court processes, provide updates on how your case is
going and try to ensure that you get the best possible outcome.
I can also
refer to support organisations and advocate on you behalf with
other agencies on safety related issues.
